What are Safety Lights?
FTC has developed a range of visual warning devices suitable for any type of materials handling equipment.
Designed to enhance site safety and increase pedestrian awareness of the presence of moving hazards.
The safety lighting range has been developed to enhance site safety and increase pedestrian awareness of the presence of moving hazards. The range includes multiple solutions offering varied visual warning styles from spots, arrows, danger zones and safety repeaters all designed to increase site safety by using light as a visual warning device.
Active Danger Zone Lights
A smarter visual warning system for safer worksites. Our latest safety lighting innovation helps create a clear, highly visible warning zone around moving vehicles – before an incident occurs. These line-type danger zone lights activate automatically when someone enters a configurable proximity around the truck, giving operators and pedestrians an immediate visual cue to stop or adjust their movements. Available in Red or Blue.
Key Features
Proximity-Triggered Activation
Lights automatically switch on when a pedestrian enters a defined distance from the truck (programmable to suit your environment).
Optional Audible Alarm
Loud decibel with voice-activated flashing alarm light, with memory function. 6 strobe flash modes.
Flashing Alerts for Increased Visibility
Optional flashing mode can be enabled to create greater urgency and visibility in high-traffic or low-light environments.
Easy to Install
One System including 3 red zone lights,1 beacon with alarms and millimetre wave radar. Can be installed with a built-in strong magnet or by drilling holes.
Customisable Warning Zones
Set your danger zone distance — from narrow confines in busy yards to wider zones in open warehouse spaces. From 1.5m – 3.5m.
Why Visual Warning Zones Matter in dynamic environments
Where humans and machines operate side by side, clear visual cues can prevent split-second misjudgements. These programmable lights act as an active deterrent, enhancing spatial awareness for both operators and nearby pedestrians.
Multi Directional Detection
Installable on sides or rear — wherever your risk is highest.
Plant and larger vehicles
Also available in high power versions for ARC and bigger trucks.
Integrates with Existing Systems
Can work as a standalone solution or integrated into your FTC pedestrian detection system for enhanced capability.
Safety Spot Light
The safety Spot light consists of two energy efficient, long life LED lights attached to materials handling equipment to project a large spot light onto the floor a few metres ahead of the direction of the truck’s travel (forwards or backwards).
This acts as a warning to approaching pedestrians and can be lit constantly or in some cases when the direction of travel is engaged. This product is available in multiple voltages and is available in either Blue or Red.
Progressive Spot Light
The Progressive Spot Light consists of an energy efficient, long life LED to project a large animated spot, the light will flash progressively in a straight line onto the floor a few metres ahead of the truck’s direction of travel (forwards or backwards). The flash will attract the attention of any pedestrians better than a fixed non flashing spotlight This acts as a warning to approaching pedestrians. This product is available in multiple voltages and is available in either Blue or Red.
Progressive Arrow Light
The Progressive Arrow light consists of an energy efficient, long life LED to project a large animated arrow, the light will flash progressively in a straight line onto the floor a few metres ahead of the truck’s direction of travel (forwards or backwards). The flash will attract the attention of any pedestrians better than a fixed non flashing spotlight This acts as a warning to approaching pedestrians. This product is available in multiple voltages and is available in either Blue or Red.
Danger Zone Light
The danger zone light projects a bright red or blue line on the floor to keep pedestrians away. This zone can be adjusted to the distance of your choice. This helps prevent foot injuries and collisions from rear end swing, as well as, showing a NO GO ZONE around any piece of materials handling equipment. This product is available in multiple voltages and is available in either Blue or Red.
Arc Light
The arc light projects a bright red or blue curved line on the floor to keep pedestrians away. This zone can be adjusted to the distance of your choice. This helps prevent foot injuries and collisions from rear end swing, as well as, showing a NO GO ZONE around any piece of materials handling equipment. This product is available in multiple voltages and is available in either Blue or Red.
Arc + Danger Zone Package
Combining these 2 Safety Light solutions creates a large ‘U’ shape around the front (or rear) of the vehicle. Projecting a bright blue (or red) zone to deter pedestrians. The zone combination can be adjusted to the distance of your choice. Helps prevent foot injuries and collisions from rear end swing, as well as showing a NO GO ZONE around any piece of materials handling equipment. This product is available in multiple voltages and is available in either Blue or Red.
Frequently asked questions
What are the benefits of using safety lights over traditional audible warnings?
Unlike audible alarms, which can blend into background noise or be ignored, safety lights provide a clear, visible warning. They are particularly useful in noisy environments where alarms may not be heard. Additionally, they reduce noise pollution and prevent alarm fatigue among workers.
Can safety lights be retrofitted onto existing material handling equipment?
Yes, all safety lights in the range can be easily fitted or retrofitted to existing material handling equipment (MHE). They are designed for flexible installation, making them compatible with various vehicle types and warehouse setups.
What colors are the safety lights available in?
Most safety lights are available in blue or red, allowing businesses to choose the color that best suits their workplace visibility and safety needs.
Can these safety lights be customised for different workplace needs?
Yes, most safety lights offer adjustable projection distances and alert styles, allowing businesses to tailor warning zones based on their specific operational risks. The Arc + Danger Zone Package also provides a combined ‘U’-shaped safety zone for enhanced protection.
