Field-based | Full-time | up to £45K OTE
Location – Around Stoke on Trent & St Albans and surrounding areas
We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-focused Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to join our field-based installation team. You’ll be working directly with leading businesses, installing our safety systems onto forklift trucks, and helping to make workplaces safer across the UK.
The Role
As an Installation Engineer, you’ll play a vital part in delivering our mission to reduce risk in material handling environments. You’ll install, service, and support our FTC safety solutions on customer sites, often acting as the face of FTC in the field.
You’ll be supported by a highly experienced in-house planning and parts team, but also expected to work independently – managing your own day, solving problems on site, and ensuring installations meet our high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install FTC safety systems on client forklifts
- Diagnose faults, replace components, and carry out servicing
- Maintain clear documentation and compliance
- Deliver outstanding customer service
- Liaise with the office team to manage stock and schedule
- Provide basic technical support to clients on site
What We’re Looking For
- Time-served Mechanical/Electrical Engineer
- Experience in materials handling or forklift environments preferred
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Self-motivated, organised, and customer focused
- IT proficient (Microsoft Office)
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Forklift licences desirable – but we’ll provide Reach & Counterbalance training if needed

- You’ll typically work within a 1.5-hour radius of home, Monday–Friday, with occasional overnight stays.
